Fairytale Fashion applying for grant

I am proposing FairytaleFashion.org for a grant from the MacArthur Foundation and Obama’s initiative to “Reimagine Learning”. I would like to create Fairytale Fashion Lab and expand FairytaleFashion.org into a program for classrooms. The grant applications are now open for public feedback before we revise them. I welcome your feedback! http://www.dmlcompetition.net/pligg/story.php?title=664

This is a fabulous idea! Talk about closing the math gender gap. (Now, if we could close it in the other direction with the reading gender gap.) Just looking through your blogs, I can see a lot of projects that would be very appealing in a classroom… and they teach art at the same time as math, so it’s like getting art back into the classroom, too.

Win all around. Good luck with the grant.

We need projects such as yours to help high school students interested in fashion strengthen their skills in science and mathematics. Good luck – please keep family and consumer sciences education and the student organization http://www.fcclainc.org in mind!
