Hi Diana! I'm watching you on Project Runway (watching old episodes online, obviously) and just saw you get eliminated, much to my chagrin. I think unfortunately Project Runway wasn't the best platform for your style to come through, but this idea is the simplest, coolest fashion idea I've seen in a long time - "holds a small fortune"! love it! - and I so admire how you've stayed true to your innovative spirit. You are AWESOME. Keep it up.

That's great!

I think this counts as a giant step forward in nerdy math knitting. Also, to digress a bit, I think that if we extend this scheme, we can completely avoid all SkyNet computer overlord scenarios by encouraging more mathy computerized knitting. Colossus and Guardian (from The Forbin Project) will discover each other, generate a common language, communicate, and immediately begin exchanging patterns.

Hi Diane,
You can purchase the materials online. I bought the cut-able EL sheets from: http://electroluminescence-inc.com/customPattern.htm

But it is difficult to attach the driver to the EL sheet, and the connection is not very sturdy. I don't think that the EL sheet would continue to function reliably.

Your work is awesome. I teach a course at Tufts University in Boston which I describe as an "art course in a biolab." (See more about more course at my LinkedIn site-- under my name. thnx.) We use Moleskines extensively and I would LOVE to be able to use this technology in the student moleskines. Is that possible? I will CERTAINLY be sending my students to your website... wonderful stuff. Thanks.
